What is the 180° Rule? The 180 degrees Rule in media is a rule which states that a camera is to be placed somewhere inside 180 degrees on a particular side of the invisible Line of a shot containing two people, This is because if the camera were to cross the line, confusion occurs for the media viewers because it makes it look like the actors/cast are switching places as oneself watches.
